SMA Negeri 15 Tanjung Jabung Barat terletak di Kecamatan Tebing Tinggi, salah satu kecamatan di Kabupaten Tanjung Jabung Barat Provinsi Jambi, tepatnya di Jalan Ir. H. Sumantoro Desa Teluk Pengkah.
Awalnya merupakan sekolah di bawah naungan Yayasan Pendidikan Ittihadul Ummah dan berdasarkan SK Bupati Tanjung Jabung Barat Nomor 420/115/DISDIK/2013 Tanggal 8 Februari 213 menjadi sekolah berstatus negeri.
Lokasi sekolah ± 600 meter dari jalan protokol/utama Desa Teluk Pengkah. Posisi seperti ini membuat suasana sekolah tenang dan nyaman, jauh dari polusi udara dan suara. Pohon-pohon sawit milik warga yang berada di sekitar sekolah memberikan kesan sejuk dan hijau.
